Jesse's Anchor

"In February 2017 Jesse was diagnosed with an ATRT brain tumour, an aggressive form of cancer which sadly took him from us on June 18th 2017 at the tender age of 1."

I was honoured to be asked if I would donate a print for the launch of a new charity last Friday, called 'Jesse's Anchor'. The charity has been founded by Anneka and Michelle Langford-Daley who sadly lost their beautiful one year old son Jesse, last June, to a rare ATRT brain tumour.

Anneka and Michelle are currently in the process of registering with the charity commission but they have a website and a Facebook page where you can find more information.

My wife, Fiona, works with Anneka so we were both very keen to do anything we could to help, not least scrub up to the best of our ability for the charity dinner. I even managed to remember how to tie my bow tie without the aid of Mr Google...just about passed muster, though it wasn't pretty!

The framed print I donated was one from Happisburgh entitled 'Start' and I'm proud to say that it started the auction rolling by raising £200 for this incredibly worthwhile cause.

I have huge admiration for Anneka and Michelle, putting together such a successful and moving evening after all they have been through. Their desire to help others who find themselves going though the same struggles is extremely humbling. They did Jesse proud on Friday and I have no doubt they will continue to do so as the charity grows.
